Heatherington Play Park, Somerset

The brief received for this park was to design a play area and a fort ruin structure with seating that is constructed using sustainable natural looking timber to blend into the surroundings rather than stand out.  We used Robinia timber for the play structures so that it would create a long lasting natural looking play area.  Robinia is a durable and fast growing sustainable hardwood grown in Europe, it does not need treatment as it is naturally resistant to pests and rotting.  This timber was the perfect choice to use in this beautiful nature area.  The fort ruin was installed using sustainable redwood logs as a focus point with seating areas a for walkers and families to relax and watch the wildlife.
